Junior Professor Chair position : New Methodologies and Applications in Biocatalysis for Sustainable Chemistry
Deadline: early September 2026.
CNRS is opening a Junior Professor Chair in BIOCATALYSIS to recruit a researcher at one of the following four laboratories:
- Institute of Molecular Sciences of Marseille (iSm2), Marseille
- Institute of Chemistry of Clermont-Ferrand (ICCF), Clermont-Ferrand
- Department of Molecular Chemistry (DCM), Grenoble
- Institute of Molecular and Supramolecular Chemistry and Biochemistry (ICBMS), Lyon
The proposed research project should demonstrate originality and the potential to advance the state of the art. It should focus on developing new methodologies in biocatalysis to address the challenges of sustainable chemistry, including:
- Discovery and engineering of novel artificial enzymes for applications in organic synthesis and biotransformation.
- Optimization of biocatalytic processes, including enzyme immobilization and the implementation of (photo)chemoenzymatic cascades, as well as interfacial and continuous-flow chemistry.
Development of biocatalysts for biomass valorization, the production of high-value-added molecules, pollutant remediation, and related applications.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to contact the host laboratories before applying.
